Stillness and motion: often the photographer makes a choice between freezing the moment or blurring movement, yet increasingly I've sought to merge the two. The result is a rendering of a musician's performance that's both energetic and quiet. Like bearing witness to a breathtaking performance, it's sometimes necessary to catch our breath.
