The power of observation is surely the main trick up a music photographer's sleeve. For me it's important to observe and photograph little things, like the way the stage lighting shimmers off an instrument or the eye contact and gestures that musician's exchange. All of this should be captured along with the obvious passion and presence in a musician's performance.
