It’s difficult to focus on the journey and in doing so cast aside the prize. Practicing street photography is one way that I remind myself to let go of the end in favour of the means. For this reason I tell myself to never let photography get in the way of a good walk. If my aim is simply to sling a camera over my shoulder and go out walking; I can at least enjoy the walk free from expectation and its sibling disappointment.
